[No Niche Friday] Red Bull gives you …… drops into the sea.
It was different. This year at the Red Bull Flug Tag event, the Marina Crescent was packed with excitement and the general atmosphere created by the organizers was fabulous.
With our invite only tickets in hand (Thanks a ton Omar Heikl of Red Bull !) , we set out to watch the show. We entered the special area for invitees and there was free red bull, mocktails and a lunch buffet on offer. The staff and volunteers were all amazingly courteous and made each and every guest feel like a star.
The first Flug was a batman looking vehicle that ran out and took a 90 degree turn the moment it left the ledge. Most participants flew farther than their creations, which we thought was quite funny.
My favorite however, were ACK’s kangaroo flier. It was an excellent display of creativity where a kangaroo shaped thingie sat atop a movable platform. But that wasn’t it. The stuntman perched himself on top of the kangaroo and as the entire thing took off he flew with his own glider off the top off the kangaroo. Brilliant thinking. It didn’t go too far, but was still better than most.
All in all, a fabulous event conducted by Red Bull and we would like to thank them for their continuous support for arts, and especially music in Kuwait. We look forward to more from them!
