Frankie and Masoud’s Pick of the Day – Orphaned Land
Orphaned Land are another progressive metal band from ‘that place’ that we don’t talk about. Wikipedia says they “fuse progressive, doom, and death metal as well as Middle-Eastern folk music and Arabic traditions in a form of Oriental metal. Each album has some concept related to two extremes: a meeting of East and West, past and present, light and darkness“
They are definitely worth a listen. Both songs are intense, cultured and kick ass!
