The Ministry of Information is launching a 24-hour broadcast of Kuwaiti Folklore music on 94.9 FM.

Hammad Al-Mutairi, manager of the new channel, explained that under the direction of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, Minister of Information, “The channel hopes to preserve and enrich Kuwait’s musical heritage. Folkloric music is an important part of Kuwait’s past. In fact, the music is still enjoyed by young and old alike and we want to make sure it is always available to them.
